As we move ever closer to our celebration of Christmas, we look at Psalm 96 and are of the object of our worship.

This will be a timely reminder as we're surrounded by so many shiny things seeking to grasp our attention and worship this holiday season.

What did the Church first look like? What does that have to teach us about what it means to be the church today? Have we missed the mark? What are the characteristics that defined and set it apart so much that it changed the world? Listen with us as we consider these things and what it means for us today.

What happened after the promised Spirit of God descended on Jesus' followers? What happened when people in the crowd, witnessing the miraculous events, denied their reality and attempted to explain away the Spirit's work as 'drunkeness'? Listen now as we consider what God began to do in and among His followers and those who had gathered.

In the chaos of life and the hardships we face, we long for something better... something good. We know that the world around us is broken and things aren't as they should be. But, what are we hoping for and will it ever come?

As we continue to study the book of Acts, we consider how God is working in and through the circumstances and struggles in life, the hardship and pain, the confusion and frustration, to bring about all of His promises... and a design far better than we could even hope to see.
